I found this death certificate online for R. S. Dean. His name was Romalus S. Dean. He married Lucy Mote. As you can see the person giving the information seems to have misunderstood whose parents name should have been given and gave Lucy Mote's parents names instead.
It seems that Lucy's parents were William Mote and unk. Reed.
Romaldus S Dean and Lucy Mote Dean are buried at Bethsada
Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County, GA.
In 1910 they are in Heard Co. in 1920 they are in Roopville, Carroll Co., and 1930 Lucy district 714 in Carrollton, Carroll Co. GA.

Now my question is which William Mote was Lucy's father? And how does he connect to William Mote and Sarah Margaret Spivey whose dtr. Jerusha Viola Mote b. 1872 married John Sherman Dean, in Haralson Co. GA.
And what if any connection is Romalus S. Dean to John Sherman Dean's family. His father was Marcus Lafayette Dean, grandfather Absalom Dean, b. ca. 1800 SC, possibly Edgefield as that is where he was living in 1805.
