I'm interested in William Hardy 1804 NC - 1870 GA wife Julia 23 May 1822 SC - 3 Jan 1908 GA, Whitfield Co., GA.
William had 3 sons Joseph H. md Margaret Slay 25 Aug 1857, Woodson Columbus md Mary Susan Hurst 7 Dec 1865, and
James Newton md Sarah E. Mcginnis no date. They moved from NC to GA sometime in the late 1840's. I don't believe Julia is their mother. On one census she say she only had 3 children. Her children are Mariah Jane (no info), Houston md Emeline Berry 1 Jun 1879 and Jefferson D.
Joseph's children are Mary J, William W, James B, Newton P,
Christoper C, Step sister Minnie and brother John or James Smith.
Woodson's Childern (all ended up in Texas)are Benjamin Lee, Columbus Grant, Charles Washington, John Hudson, James Arthur, Henry Newton, Minnie O, Ewell Woodson
Newton's children by Sarah are William E, John H, Augustus (Gus), Mary J, Rosanna, Judy (male), Maurice, Lena Smith, Birdie Ray, Lula Ray/Roy.
Children by Mattie Denton are Jasper N, James Monroe, Walter Lester, Fanny Hixson, Thomas, Earnest, Ellen
Mariah Jane nothing is known.
Houston children are Minnie Roach, John A, James J, Lucy, George M, Cora Dell, Emma A, Myrtle, Cecil, Andrew or Jack.
They lived Whitfield Co until Houston died in 1913 then some moved to Fulton Co, GA.
Jefferson D. may have moved to Texas with Houston. Their is a J D Hardy living in Franklin Co, TX married to Fannie Orrill with 2 daughters Kate and Ethel
I have not found any Hardy/Hardee/Hardie in NC to connect to. If anyone from any of these families know anything about our past I would like to talk to you
