I'm looking for any information on a Nicy Burton. She was married to Daniel McDowell. According to records they were married July 20, 1831 in Coweta Georgia. According to an 1850 census report they were both born in Georgia. On that census report there were several children listed: Isaac, Mary, Nancy, Robert, Samuel, Elizabeth, James, John, Susannah and William D. William D was my husband's great grandfather. According to a letter written by my husband's late cousin Ida Wheatley Hawkins, who was William D's granddaughter, Nicy's last name was Myhand, but, according to all the research I have done I think she was incorrect and it was Nicy Burton. I have not been able to find a Nicy Myhand in any of my research although I have found the name Myhand.
