Looking to share what limited infromation that I have regarding Elizabeth "Bettie" (Gaar) Collins (b. in Georgia on April 15, 1852 - d. October 3, 1918 in Atascosa County) and her husband ...... Silas Ezekial Collins (b. in Philadelphia (Neshoba, County) Mississippi on May 23, 1852 - d. August 1, 1940 in Atascosa County. They lived in the Atascosa County area around Poteet and Lytle,Texas in the early 1900's ~ Lytle and Poteet are just south of San Antonio, Texas. Silas Ezekial Collins is buried in the Rutledge Cemetery just outside of Poteet along with several of his and Bettie's children; The final resting place of Elizabeth "Bettie" (Gaar) Collins is still unknown at this time. According to my records, there were twelve or possibly even thirteen children born into this large family. Mary Elizabeth Collins was the seventh born child and is believed to have been born in Hattisburg, Mississippi on March 18, 1883; Her death occurred on April 21, 1924 in Atascosa County. Mary Elizabeth Collins married Robert Franklin Hester on December 24, 1900 in Blanco, Texas; They had a total of five children. Robert Franklin Hester is believed to be buried in Del Rio, Texas and I would very much so like to find the final resting place of his wife .... "Mary Elizabeth (Collins) Hester" so as to ensure that there is a nice headstone in place for her; This is also the same case scenario for her mother .... "Elizabeth (Gaar) Collins". Any information you might share with me on any of these individuals and / or their related families would be deeply appreciated. You may contact me at prestine@devtex.net or post a follow-up message here on this board. Thank You, James Collins ...... Lytle, Texas Notify Administrator about this message?
