Hello all. My grandmother was Hazel Gabbard-Luper daughter of Milton Sherman, son of John Preston Gabbard, son Elijah G. Gabbard and Sarah Stephens, son of Edward (Ned)Gabbard, son of Jacob Gabbard and Margaret Smith.
My son is an aspiring Pitcher (he's ten, but has big hopes). and His he is wondering how we might be related to Kason Gabbard (Left Handed pitcher for the Texas Rangers) son of Joe Gabbard from Oxford, Ohio. Does anyone know which Gabbard line he descends from? I would like to be able to make a connection for my son Ian. Thanks in advance for any help.
PS. my grandfather Claud Luper was signed to play for the Chicago (Black Sox) White Sox in the Thirties, but lost an eye in a car accident and couldn't play. It'd be nice to have a successfull ball player in the family tree somewhere...
