Just wondering if you had found anything out as of yet.
I am currently looking for that information myself on Ancestry.com.
I am related to the Gabberts in this way:
My mother's maternal grandmother was Lora Frances Gabbert.
She was the daughter of John Crawford Gabbert.
John Crawford Gabbert was the son of John Gabbert. John was married to Lennora Mayfield, and she was pregnant with John Crawford and his twin sister, Ida, when John was killed in the civil war. (I cannot find any military records on him, either.)
John Gabbert's father was William Gabbert - and as you know his father was Thomas.
My handed-down history indicates that William, and his sons John and Peter were all killed in the Civil war.
It's nice to see someone else working on this! I guess that makes us related - somehow.
I was not aware of the possibility of Thomas being in any sort of war at all! But I will dig deeper, and if I find anything at all, I will let you know.
