Hi Jean. Thanks for your quick reply. Calvin and Isy were my grandparents and I spent many years on the farm in Denton with them. They actually had 2 sons but he first one, Wayne Evans Gabbert died 3 days after birth. My father and their only living son was adopted and his name is Donald Evans Gabbert. He died in August from complications of Parkinsons. And so the work goes on, doesn't it?? We actually found the Holder's cemetary and are heading up there tomorrow to take some pictures. They, and many others are buried in the Georgetown Cemetary near Pottsboro, Tx. We'll add the gravestone pictures to our family tree. Is there anything that you'd like for me to look for while I'm there? I've also got some cemetary searching to do in Denton but will do it another day.
I've got a huge geneology record that was sent to my grandad Calvin from Buel Lamar Gabbert years ago. My dad gave me a copy of it after grandad died. It's been very helpful although it differs in some respects to grandad's verbal record to me and from the family bible. I figure that if we find changes or additions we can just add them in.
Thanks for your help and If I get stuck or have questions, I'll send you a quick email. I also wanted to mention that I think I have a good picture of either Paul Gabbert of Melton E Holder. I can't remember which one. I'll find that out when I make my Denton trip as my sister and step mom still live there and have the Gabbert's belongings.
