Here are your Gabbberts. William Gabbert, the guerrilla leader, was a grandson of George Gabbert, a Rev War vet. My gggg grandfather Michael Gabbert was George's brother - and also a Rev War vet. The Original poster should have had little trouble getting into the SAR.
You can't find records on William Gabbett and his sons, since they were an unofficial pro-Confederate group, the same as were almost all Missouri guerrillas. Think of them as sort of a local homeguard. It seems William Gabbett is quite well known even now if Vernon County, Missouri. :)
