Rachel,

It is very interesting to me that there is a branch of Gabbei's somewhere other than WI. Interesting enough, I used to live near Oneonta for 6 years. I do have a brief history of the patriarch of the WI Gabbei's Gustav. When he emigrated to the US from Grossendorf-Stolp in the 1850's, he made his way through NY prior coming west to WI. I wonder if he had brothers that came with him? If some of his family stayed in NY as he moved west? I don't know. If you have any info let me know. Thanks. Ritchie
