There is a small group of us doing genealogical research on the Gabe descendants of Joseph & Caroline Fulgur Gabe.
Census records indicate that they came from Germany in the 1850s. They came into America through New Orleans and migrate to West Virginia. As glassblowers, their migration seems to follow that industry's growth. They are later found in Belmont County, WV. Gertrude Gabe, dau. of Joseph & Caroline, married and went to Muncie, Delaware County, IN (home of the Ball Jar Manufacturing Co.)
