Hi, I think you will find the Gabel sometimes spell Gabriel came from Mississippi to Arkansas around 1898. They were in Tallahatchie Co. Mississippi. John Gabel's wife was Frances called Fanny. Fanny was married before to a Pruit had one daughter by first husband. The Gabel families were around England and Lonoke. Children of John and Frances Gabel were; Mattie Pruit age 10, Eliza Gabriel age 8, John age 5, Louella age 3 William W. age 1 these are found in 1880 census of Tallahatchie co Ms. Also John and Frances's marriage lic. are there. On their Marriage lic they spell their name Gabel on the 1880 census it was spell Gabriel. Check the Ark. census of 1900 and 1920 of Jefferwon and Lonoke Cos. Ruth
