when I was a little girl he told me that we were part cherokee and something about Dodge City. I dont know anything more than that. I pretty much thought he was just telling me a story...he was known to do that from time to time.
my father's name was Joseph J. Gabel...his father's name was George Elmer Gabel...that's as far back as I know.
I do know that my grandfather had 6 brothers and sisters...Joseph F., Margaret, Helen, Herbert, Ray and Charlie...we're from Chicago...any information that could help me link up with the rest of the line much appreciated.
