Hi Jan,

I checked the LDS site, familysearch.org., for the birth of a Catherine Niersbach, which would be close to her age (67) as given when she immigrated in 1883. That would have made her born about 1816.

I located two possibilities for Catherine Niersbach:

03 May 1815, Catholic, Landscheid, Rheinland, Prussia
Father: Conorardi Niersbach
Mother: Angelae Gilliesheim

18 October 1815, Catholic, Landscheid, Rheinland, Prussia
Father: Johannis Adami Niersbach
Mother: Catharinae Meyers
NOTE: Mother's name is Catherine and she was born in October, the same month as shown on the 1900 Census, but the year is not the same. These are from film #0467992.

Incidentally, the ship 'Waesland' sailed from Antwerp.
