Bob, In those files from Osann-Monzel, I went to see if by any chance there was a Catharine ESCH...hello!!! Yes, she was listed there, with two marriages; the second to Philip Niersbach in 1851! So, with all due respect to Census transcribers....whoever came up with MASON needs new glasses!! I cannot even fully accept the WASCH I saw on the records at Census-Online for the 1900 Census. But I dont really care, because I've found the correct person and now know her maiden name! Thanks for all the other input like the ship. And the tip on the Thomas Goebel in Illinois. I have a phone number, but if you have an email it might be an easier way to contact them. I will understand if they don't want a stray person contacting them. So pleased to have exchanged info. I hope that Catholic records site was of some interest to you too. Regards, Jan Hart Notify Administrator about this message?
