I purchased the subject studio portrait of a middle-aged woman taken by Haberman, La Crosse, WI. It is identified on the front of the holder:

"Mathilda Gabel"

This individual appears in Public Member Trees posted on ancestry.com. She is listed in the 1880 U.S. Census data for Shelby, La Crosse Co., WI; the 1900 U.S. Census data for La Crosse (resided at 1107 Jackson Street), La Crosse Co., WI; the 1905 Wisconsin State Census data for La Crosse, La Crosse Co., WI; the 1910 U.S. Census data for La Crosse (resided at 611 Pine Street), La Crosse Co., WI; and the 1920 U.S. Census data for La Crosse (resided at 601 Pine Street), La Crosse Co., WI. She is included in the "Wisconsin Death Index, 1959-1997" and the "Social Security Death Index."

Mathilda F. Gabel, born 25 Apr 1880 in WI, died 11 Sep 1962 in WI, was the daughter of a farmer, George Gabel (1831-1888), and Elizabeth Weirus (1849-1925). Mathilda was employed as a school teacher. She never married.
