Linda, Are you still looking for Henry Gabert? Here is some stuff I have. He was became a citizen in Milwaukee Nov.2, 1858. I have seen the papers at the county courthouse.On these papers, he says he arrived in New York in June 1848. So far I have not found the passenger list or ship. A Heinrich Gebhard was born in Heidelberg on Feb 27, 1818 to Georg Gebhard and Christiana Witmer. Right place and right date. Probably right child. He served in the Civil War, Wisconsin Infantry Co. B, from March 1865 to September 1865, as a paid volunteer for another man who was drafted. My grandmother was Bertha Gabert his fourth child who married Joseph Stroh. I would appreciate any information you have. Janet
