On my Grandfathers baptismal record Gabys is how it was spelled. His godmother was A Anna Gabys Iwanowski.My GGrandfather did list Lithuania as his birth place on earlier census records, and on the birth records I have so far for his children. But on his death record Poland is listed. When my Grandfather died Lithuania was listed as his fathers birth place but one of his siblings got upset and had it legally changed to list Poland. Is that the full name or was that shortened from something else?
