I have been reading some of the older post.
My great grandmother was Clara S GABLE born in PA on March 28 1884 married a Charles BOSTIAN lived in Sunbury Pa.
From her bible pages I know for a fact her dad was Charles H Gable born March 13 1842.
He married a Mary J birth date December 29 1845.
An older cousin wrote down for me 20 years ago what she remembered.
She said they came from Catawissa area.
Clara Gables mother was Mary Jane Lindville.
Clara middle name was Stella. She died July 20 1973.
When she was a girl of 8 she went to other peoples homes to work.
She had these siblings
John GABLE
Serena "Rene" GABLE
Emma GABLE
Clark GABLE
Bill GABLE
I am not sure this is all correct since it was from a persons memory.
I do know my great grand mother Clara GABLE told me how her father died when she was a girl and her brother Clark GABLE ran away from home.
I also think that one of the Gable Girls married a CLARK.
I think it was a Fred Clark.
I have this name written down next to GABLE when I was asking my grandfather stuff in the 1980's he said there was a Fred who was a Decon in a church.
His wife on of these GABLE women played a Harp and my great grandmother always wondered what became of the Harp.
I have an old picture of 3 generations of Clara GABLES kin on it .
I can only guess at who they are?
Since my great grandmother was very young when her father died I do not think she had much memory of the family and all the names and even of all her sisters and brothers.
My dad only remembers one of them visiting her John Gable he was a Navy man.
I have found a family tree of a Charles H Gable and the name and dates fit pretty good.
Has Fuch's and Hoffmans and Gables etc.
In it he was Charles Hoffman Gable ?
Any replys would be greatly welcomed.
