hello. my father was born in dortmund germany and lived most of his youth in vienna austria. he came to canada in the early 50's. his name originally had an umlaut (sp?) the 2 dots- over the "a" and he was told to change the spelling and add the "e" after the "a" for the correct pronunciation. The only others i know are my 2 brothers in my vicinity and my uncles in vienna and germany. there is a fairly famous football player named wally from this area too.
that's pretty much all i know.
