GABRIEL Martinique and possibly France

We're looking for connection with my husband's great grand father who came to Australia in the mid 1800's from Martinique. We believe his mother's name was Laurencive. His name was CHARLES LOUIS GABRIEL, and we believe his father had the same or similar name. Born St. Pierre, Martinique 3 July 1819. Died in Kempsey Australia 1902. Family history says the family originally came from France, but we are unable to find out any information about his connections in Martinique (possibly due to many records being lost during earthquake). Please email if you have any connection here to gabriels@bigpond.com
We feel sure there must have been other siblings in Martinique. He was a doctor, practising in the Kempsey region of New South Wales Australia.
