See the 3 generation descendant report that I sent to Paul Gabriel re:Abraham Gabriel dtd 8/23/01. It has your Elias Gabriel & his ancestors in it.
Unfortunately, the Gabriel family history book just mentions Elias once, on p. 159.
"Elias Gabriel, b. 1847, Ohio. Elias was in the Civil War, mustered out Sept 4, 1865. He was from Pleasant Twp., Grant Co., Ind."
You might try looking at the Civil War military and pension records for more info on him. If he received a pension, it may mention a wife and/or children.
