Looking for info on Lewis, husband of Eliza. They are found in the 1860 NY census in Yates Co., Ny. Living with them are Charles (18), P. (female 15), George (13), S. Elwood (22), and Charles Elwood (5). Charles is possibly a 'missing link' in my Ellwood line. I believe S. Gabriel married a ? Elwood/Ellwood who died, and went back home to live. I just can't seem to discover who 'S' might have been married to. Does anyone have any info that might help with this, and to fill in the gaps about Lewis and Eliza? (Charles always told the story of living with an uncle that was cruel to him and running away--no one in the family ever wanted to talk about it so the story is a mystery.)
