Hi folks,

I have questions...:)

I found in the 1870 census sophia gabrion Jeffers listed as canadian. It says her father is of foreign birth and her mother was born in the US.

1880 it shows her father as being born in Canada FR. (quebec or new france) Mother Vermont and Sophia being born in Vermont.

1900 it shows her being born in Vermont and her father being born in Canada. Mother Vermont.

In fact every census shows Sophia born in Vermont but I see all around the net this New Hampshire thing for her and her siblings.

Another interesting fact is that Albert, Joanna and family disappear until they settled in Lowville NY. Why? There's not ONE of em showing up in a USA census until 1840 or so. Why? Did they go home to Canada after Albert died?

Do we have an hard documentation on the USA Gabrions??
