Since there is no Gabie site and since there has been recent discussion of name variations, I was wondering if anyone would happen to have information about Robert Gabie of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina or any of his ancestors or descendants? He has been incorrectly connected to my Gable/Gabbie family and I would like to set the record straight. His 1766 Will named the following legatees:
Robert Peterson-Grandson,
Jean R. Morgan-dau,
Elizabeth Gabie,
Martha Gabie-dau,
Jennett Gabie, dau. matures April 20, 1768.
James Gabie, son oldest-disinherited him,
Joseph Gabie, son matures June 22, 1771,
John Gabie, son matures at December 22, 1766.
Mary Gabbie, dau,
Sarah Gabie, dau,
Robert Gabie, son,
Mrs. Robert Gabie.
Also, does anyone have a clue as to when a child reached maturity in the 1700's? Any help would be appreciated. :)
