My family started in Italy - Livorno and Genoa - then went onto Izmir during the late 1800's.
My great grandparents were Benjamin and Joya (or Gioia) Gabai (or Gabai) and Behor/Gershon and Behora/Boulissa Algranati.
Benjamin - a port worker - and Joya had 10 children (the first 5 or 6 in Livorno), Gershon and Boulissa had 7 (all in Izmir).
My grandparents, Dave Gabai and Cadem Algranti, came to America in 1920.
