William,
Thank you for the information. I have been looking and found a copy of your book after all and hopefully will receive it early next week.
I emailed a woman from the Roscommon Genealogy Center in Strokestown and she said that they do commissioned research. I am not sure if they will research entire family lines or only single individuals.
I have been to the www.leitrim-roscommon.com site and was very impressed with the information contained! I looked at the 1901 census and hope that I might be able to look at the 1659 Census of Ireland, 1749 Elphin Diocese Census, 1796 Spinning Wheel Survey, 1825/1832/1842 Tithe Applotment Survey, 1848-1865 Griffith Valuation, and the 1910 census at the National Library in Dublin. (I'm not sure they have all of those resources available.)
I would love to get in contact with the man you mentioned who has researches the Cunniffe family. I will be meeting some of my distant relatives who still live in Kiltoom next week and hope that I can learn more about our common ancestors from them as well.
Thank you again for you reply and the good information!
Sincerely,
Christina
