Hello everyone,
I'm Margaret Nuala (I use this name) Ballinger and I'm the granddaughter of Margaret Gauckwin born 1887 and died 1965 in St Helens Merseyside.
Until I heard recently from John Ludden I knew only of one brother David and sister Bridget (buried with Margaret, died 1915 aged 30). Now it appears she was one of the family of Michael, Mary Ellen, Denis etc etc.
I'm confused though, as I read all your notes about this family but there is no Margaret - maybe it wasn't her first name?
I'm not even sure where she was born (Galway?) and when she came to England. My grandfather William Ballinger was already there in the census of 1901, aged 20. When they were married they lived in Chapel St. St Helens
Does anyone have an e-mail for the elusive Anne Kerr who has visited some of my family for research. (they apparently got the wrong address).
Anyone know anything useful?
