William, Many thanks for your offer of help with the Lyons,family,
Bridget Lyons(nee Gauckwin)played a big part in my mother's life and that of her two sister's (Mary and Ellen)when their father Denis returned to Killure after the death of his wife(Bridget Egan)in St Helens,Lanc's abt,1919/20.
Yes I did know Austin and his brother's Michael,Thomas?,Patrick,and Francis,We were regular visiters to Austin family home during 1940,and part of 1950,I left Killure,1954, my mother left 1956,Her decision to close the family home was meet with some oppositon,
Know of your area,Ballinasloe for the Fair was as far as we went,Cart loads of kid's went from Killure,for a great day out, Lovely to know it's still going,I'm in contact with the G,Grandaughter of Mary Gaughwin/James Ward,she keep's me upto date on Killure,
Steart, did send me some information in June 2001,(god bless him)anything new would be appreciated.
