Dear Fellow Researcher
I am also looking for Gadbaw/Getbois/Gadbois family roots. One of my great.....grandfather's was Frank "Francis" Gadbois who married Laura "Fanny" Rusha B 1839 in Canada. He was born in NY or Canada about 1832 and they had three kids: william, Fanny and Elizabeth. All born between 1858 and 1860 in NY.
Francis "Frank is listed in the 1860 NY census as living with his brother Lucas b 1828 and his wife Catherine b aprox 1830 in Canada and their kids: Joseph, Mary, Alex, Lucas with birth ranges from 1848-1859.
I found one line of Algonquin roots on one branch. My Grandmother also said she was sure that our Gadbaw side had Native roots. ( Mohawk?). I am stuck at this point. Not sure when Frank died and have no clue if he remarried or his parent's names.
Any help would be appreciated.
