I only have partial records for this family. They are drawn from a transcription of the original records of the St-Regis parish and can be found at the National Library of Canada.

François Vandandaique-Gadbois and Marie Paré/Mary Perry had at least five children that I know of, and for whom I only have a few birthdates and marriage dates. The birthdates I have are in 1825 and in 1830 - a plausible date range to include your gr-grandfather.

One of their children is a Francis Vandandique-Gadbois who marries Sophia Durocher on 10-Oct-1860 at St. Columban parish in Cornwall, Ontario. Francis's siblings include: Elizabeth, Alex, Margaret/Marie and Sophia.

That's all I have on this branch. I haven't pursued finding any of Francis and Sophia's children. Best of luck.

P.S. Nice to know about the Goodway=Gadbois anglisization. If you encounter any Laveen/Levigne/Levine/Lavene names in the upper Northwest New York area, give me a shout. They are likely some of mine.
