1. Joseph Van Den Dyke came to Canada from Brussels, Belgium.

2. His son Joseph m. Louise Chalifour in Québec City on April 18, 1678. He was a woodworker and his nickname was "gatebois" which, in French, means that he messed up wood.

3. Their son Claude Vandandaique m. Marie Brideau in Beauport (near Québec City) on Nov. 5, 1708. The marriage contract was before Notary Louis Chambalon on Oct. 29, 1708.

4. Their daughter Marguerite m. Joseph Thibault on Nov. 15, 1751 in St-François-de-Sales (now Laval, Québec).
