I found a posting on Desrosiers family forum, which lists some connections re: Gadbois/Pare/Perry/Durocher etc.

My grandmother was a Durocher and spelled her name DeRochie. Her ancestors were from France to Quebec and ended up in Indian Lands, Concession 2 of Charlottenburg in Glengarry County. (Tyotown Road between the Purcell Road and the Rae Road).

My line is: Antoine Durocher and Genevieve Pare (Perry);
Joseph Durocher and Marguerite Chatelain ; Joseph Durocher and Bridget Kinsella; Alzina Durocher (DeRochie) and George W. MacDonald.

There were at least two of the children of Joseph Durocher and Marguerite Chatelain (Chatlin etc) who married Gadbois who were neighbours on Concession 2 of Indian Lands, Charlottenburg: Mary married Alexander on May 21, 1860 and Sophia married Francis Gadbois on October 10, 1860.

The Durocher name had many variations of spellings as did many other French names.

Colleen
