       When the MD (Northern) Gafford's left the Catholic church (it was illegal to be a Catholic then, but they were originally French, and most French were Catholic. France to Scotland with William the C., and meetings were held in homes, records in Queen Ann Co. MD.) they became Methodist.
       I have researched two Mary's in Baltimore, one moved fro Ohio back to Baltimore, and may be the same one as the Mary who appears in records as running a hotel there. Hope this helps. Rachel
