Searching for parents of Eliza GAFFORD who was born in Danville, Virginiai in 1822 and who married Dr. John Lewis JOHNSON in 1839 in Danville, Virginia. Eliza and Dr. John L. JOHNSON had 13 children all born in Virginia or North Carolina. Dr. JOHNSON was one of the founders of the "Heroes of America," a secret organization organized to preserve the Union during the Civil War.
