WELLINGTON - Vivian Godbey, 100, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester O'Brien of First Baptist Church of Amarillo and the Rev. Kevin Everett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Godbey was born July 31, 1904, in Brown County to John T. Gafford and Lue C. Payne Gafford. She married John Ray Godbey in 1923 in Wellington.
Survivors include three sons, Troy Godbey of Dumas, J.R. Godbey of Zellwood, Fla., and Jerry Godbey on Boynton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Erma Rigdon of Amarillo and Betty Tipton of Quail; two brothers, Bert Gafford of Center and Monroe Gafford of Elgin; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Wellington Cemetery Association or First Baptist Church.
