Am interested in any info on the Gahagan family in Footville, WI. I have Gahagans in my family tree. My Gr-gr grandfather married a Betsy Gahagan in NY and they settled in Footville. My gr-grandfather married a widow, Mary McCarthy Gahagan, with twin sons. They also settled in Footville, WI. I ran across an obit in the Janesville, WI Gazette dated February 11, 1884 and it reads as follows, "Mrs. James Gahagan, of Footville died in her home in that village in the 23rd year of her age. The deceased, in her lifetime, enjoyed a large acquaintance, all of whaom learned to love and respect her for her gentle and womanly disposition to all with whom she met. The funeral was held at St. Patricks church, this city, at 12:30 o'clock this afternoon, after which the remains were conveyed to the catholic cemetery and gently laid to rest." If anyone has any info at all about the Gahagan family it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
