Mary Jane, I tie into your people also. I have William Travis b.27 Oct. 1777 M. Mary Gahagan. Their daughter, Margaret Young Travis, b. 7 Dec. 1818 M. 19 May 1836 James Gourley. She d. 1 Jan. 1889. They were parents of Mary Rosanna Gourley who married William Hudleson Crawford and Wm. and Mary are my ggrandparents. I am, or was, a Crawford. I have more info here and there - too much to include here. I am saving your email and name and will try to send along soon. It seems I did find an article on Gahagans. I had figured they were German but that is not true. Incidentally Dayton is in Armstrong County but Indiana is in Indiana County. There is an excellent historical society located there. I've found a lot of information there.
