Finally located my GAHAGAN family in Austin City, Mower County, MN in 1900 census and received Calvary Cemetery records from the Mower County Historical Center today.
Owen GAHAGAN b. 1842 d. 25 Feb 1908 came to US from Ireland in 1869
m. Mary GILLIGAN c. 1877, b. 1854 d. 27 Oct 1934
(both buried in Calvary Cemetery)
They had 8 children per the 1900 census and 8 living but only 7 listed:
1) Thomas b. 1 Nov 1878 in Windom Twp. Mower County MN, d. 30 Sep 1950, buried in Calvary Cemetery, Austin MN
Thomas m. Julia E. UNKNOWN c. 1902 (he was living with parents in 1900 and son Herbert was born in 1903).
Julia E. UNKNOWN was b. 1 July 1877 and died 29 Nov 1959. Both are buried in Calvary Cemetery along with their son Herbert I. GAGHAGAN b. 25 Apr 1903, d. 22 Nov 1929.
2) Unknow GAHAGAN b. after 1880 and before 1900, not listed in 1900 census
3) Mary GAHAGAH b. Nov 1883 (born SD or MN)
4) Joseph GAHAGAN b. Dec 1885 in SD, d. 24 Oct 1928, buried 27 Oct 1928, Calvary Cemetery, Austin MN
5) Alice GAHAGAN b. Apr 1889 in SD, d. 19 Nov 1935, buried 22 Nov 1935 in Calvary Cemetery, Austin MN
6) Genevieve GAHAGAN GIBBONS b. 22 Jan 1892 MN, d. 1972, b. 1972 Calvary Cemetery Austin MN
7) William GAHAGAN b. Aug 1896 in MN
8) Glenn GAHAGAN b. Feb 1898
Have information on all of Mary's siblings, Bridget GILLIGAN WALSH, Ellen GILLIGAN DEVANEY (my great grandmother), Catherine (Kate) MCBRIDE, William P. GILLIGAN. Would like to find living relative that may have information on Mary's grandparents. Her parents were William P. and Ellen FITZPATRICK GILLIGAN. William is buried in Dell Rapids SD and Ellen is buried in Minneapolis MN.
Family history had all of the GILLIGANS in SD at one time but other than Ellen who married Thomas DEVANEY none of them could make it work and they went back to Austin MN.
