I have some information on Jackson Gaither. I've not verified all of it, but I believe it's pretty accurate.
He was born about 1816, Rutherford Co., TN, the son of Bealy Gaither (b1770, Maryland, died 1826/28, Madison Co., Alabama). Bealy was the son of Richard Gaither, (born Oct. 1745, Ann Arundel Co., Maryland, died 1825, Fairfield Dist., SC) and Richard's wife, Sarah Jacobs, the d/o Jeremiah Jacob(s), Sr. (b1712 - d1781), and his wife, Rachel Gaither.
Jackson's wife, Lucinda Scallions, was born 29 Jun 1819, Madison Co., Ala. She died 11 Jan. 1856, Boone Co., Ark. Her sister, Angelina Scallions, married Ralph Arnold about 1833, in Tennessee-- possibly Rutherford or Lincoln Co. Ralph Arnold's mother was a great-granddaughter of Jeremiah Jacobs, Sr., and Rachel Gaither. Jackson's brother, Jeremiah Gaither (b1808/10, Clay Co., Ala, died c1870, Crittenden Co., KY), married Nancy Arnold, a cousin of Ralph Arnold.
The Scallion girls were the daughter's of Peter Scallion. I have a little more on Angelina, but not on Lucinda. I've not pursued the Scallion line as they are not my line.
In 1860, Poinsett Co., Arkansas, Ralph and Angelina (Scallion) Arnold's two older sons were living together with a B. F. Gaither, age 22 (b. c1838), TN. This could be Lucinda's son, Benjamin.
I just learned Richard Gaither's daughter, Sophia, marriedPhillip Cloud Dye. Their son, Lewis Dye moved to Coffee Co., TN and married a "Sallie" Gaither, whom I suspect might be Bealy's daughter, Sarah. The Dyes connect to the Arnolds in Coffee Co., Tennessee.
I'm looking for any information on the Zachariah Jacobs who lived next door to Richard Gaither in 1800 Fairfield Co., SC. I'm sure he must be a son-in-law to Richard and might be the Zachariah Jacobs in 1810, Rutherford Co., TN. Any and all clues are welcome.
