Michele,
Did you get the information on James Galvin's arrival into the U.S. via New Orleans from the TN State Archive?James Galvin and the LaHatte family has quite a collection of genealogy information, plus pictures, in the archives.Again, my John Galvin was a brother to James Galvin.James lived in Bowling Green, Warren Co., Ky for a time and worked with the telegraph company. He latter married and moved to the Nashville, Davidson Co, TN area.He had two daughters and two sons, but the sons died as children. One daughter married Charles LaHatte, a very handsome and successful man.His picture and Emma, his wife, are in the TN State Archives. There is a letter from James to John during the Civil War in the archives too.It is very interesting.
Chris Snyder, who is related to James, and I have been working on this Galvin family. We would appreciate any help that you, or anyone else, can give us about where in Westmeath, the Galvin family was from.
Thank You!
