If you want a connection, I can put you in touch with a woman in Australia who is descended from Neils Gansberg of Schleswig, which was sometimes German and sometimes Danish-ruled.My ancestor is from the independent kingdom of Hannover, which did not become part of Prussia until 1870-71.The name sounds Swedish to me, but Sweden also ruled this area (northern part of today's Germany & southern part of today's Denmark) for awhile.
Can you give me a name and dates for your Gansberg?
Maureen
