Lewis Ganson
August 1, 1836 "Mr. Ganson gets married to Miss (Blank) at Sorias dwelling."
Feb. 1, 1837 "Ganson ran away from Natchez today. He sold out his lease and groceries the other day to Henderson, the carriage maker, for $3500.He got the cash in hand for what he sold and then fled the city -- left his wife behind him in a particular situation."From Wm. Johnson's Natchez: the antebellum diary of a free Negro, pages 130 and 161.
The woman Lewis Ganson married was Mary Elizabeth Barnett and she had a son, William, born in 1837.She probably got a divorce on grounds of desertion and married Silas Richardson in 1840.They had a family and I am a descendant
