Thomas Gardiner, his brother Singleton Gardiner, and his sister-in-law Ruth (Hamilton) Gardiner emmigrated from Ireland to New York state in 1805. Henry Coyne was married to their sister Anna (Gardiner). Henry and his family followed the Gardiner brothers to New York in 1810. The Gardiners lived in New York state until the autumn of 1816, when they moved to Canada. Henry and his family followed in 1817. I do not believe that Thomas Gardiner ever returned to Ireland, so he could not have fathered a son born in Ireland in 1818.
