Samuel Oscar Garlick...
I am related to both Hannah Garlick of Hempstead, New York and Samuel Oscar Garlick of Broome, New York and I was wondering how they were related. It's a big piece of the puzzle for my family genealogy.
Samuel Oscar is my great great grandfather, his daughter Bettie Garlick is my great grandmother.
Hannah Garlick is related to me by the way of Henry Stites (we're working on that part of the puzzle, too).I know that Hannah married Henry Stites, the grandson of Dr. John Stites.Hannah's father was Joshua Garlick, Jr and his father was Joshua Garlick, Sr.I believe that Joshua Garlick came from England (I don't have the year or where from, I'm afraid.I've seen different places in Engalnd listed: Derbyshire and Devon, I'd like to have a timeframe of when and where they came from) and ended up in Hempsted on Long Island.I was wondering how Hannah Garlick connects with Samuel Oscar Garlick?
From what I understand, Samuel Oscar Garlick was born in Broome, NY (1835-1913), his father was Samuel Reed Garlick of New Milford CT (1792-877). his father was Read Garlick (1754-1831) in New Milford, CT and his father was Henry Garlick (1700-1740) from Devon...Hmmm... How can this connect to Hannah Garlick who married Henry Stites?Especially when Hannah was born in about 1665?
There might be some facts wrong with the Samuel Oscar line (dates for example), If anyone can help me fill in the blanks, that would be fantastic!
Many thanks in advance,
Mary Hannah Stites
