From the 1870 Census "Hebert" had a wife named Mary and a son named Henry. This is the wife that followed Dinna. Henry was 4 years old if you believe the census taker. I have a Henry Clay that was born in 1867 in Louisianna. His mother was Mary Smith Garlington. Our relative is a Jesse Washington Garlington who in the Archer Co. Texas census of 1900. Henry was living with Jesse at the time and they were listed as brothers. Jesse's death certificate from Arizona lists his mother as Mary Smith and unknown Garlington as the father. His birthdate was June 21, 1869 which would have made him an infant for the 1870 census and may have been ignored due to age. I realize that you were both researching the Dinna Brister connection but have you run into anything about Jesse or his mother Mary? Thanks for any help. Will share the rest of this line with anyone that needs it.
