Sarah Young was a sister of Rev. Jesse Young(b. 1780-1784). The Youngs and Garlingtons moved from SC to Amite County, MS and were neighbors there. Sarah's daughter, Elizabeth Garlinton (b. 1821) married William Pate (b. 1790) and their daughter Mary(Polly)Pate (b. 1821) eloped on 1 Dec. 1845 with the son of Rev. Jesse Young: Rev. Elijah Young (b. 1818), because the family would not give permission as they were cousins. My father is Elijah Orum Young, Jr. and this story is based on family tradition.
