Yes I do feel that Jesse belongs as a child of John Hebert/Hubart Garlington. Yes he is missing from the famous census page but he and Henry Clay live together as brothers later and list the same mother. I don't know how to prove it since they are both deceased and I believe that their children are as well. I would be glad to give you the info on his children and grandchildren if you like.

One interesting point: he married Etta May White whose mother was Matilda Hatfield and father was James White. The Hatfields have adopted me and they have a great deal of information on that line.
