Hello:

The parents of Sarah Garlington are Joseph and Dorcas Garlington. Sarah was born in 1795 in South Carolina. She died Feb. 1843 near Moncks Corner, SC and was buried at Potomac, SC. She was married in 1816 to Rev. Peter Huxford who was born on June 4, 1791 at Berkeley County, SC. He died on Nov. 5, 1863 near Moncks Corner, SC. His parents were Harlock Huxford and Judith Jones.

Harlock, a farmer, was of St. John's Parish, Berkeley, SC.

Joseph Garlington was the son of Christopher Garlington (IV) and Miss Young. First name of the wife is not known. Joseph was born about 1753 in Virginia and died before 1814 in St. John's Parish, South Carolina on his plantation, Sante River near Monks Corner.

My source is The Garlington Family by Thesta Scogland, published 1976 by Gateway Press. PAGES 234-238. There is a lot more on the Huxfords included in this Garlington history. The book should be available at any good genealogy library and is on microfilm from Salt Lake LDS family history library. This is must reading for anyone researching Garlingtons.

Good luck with your search. I hope the above information is of help to you.

Jo Ann Garlington
