Christopher Garlington I

Here is a question for all you Garlington researchers to ponder as you rest up for the new year. Was Christopher Garlington I the first and only Garlington immigrant to reach the shores of the New World? I have been studying the Garlingtons for years and have noticed that every white Garlington traces his/her roots back to the Christoper Garlington who landed in Virginia in 1638 (by some accounts and 1648 by others). Has anyone on this list traced a Garlington family back to someone other than Old Christopher? It seems odd that only one Garlington left England for the New World. Although ours is a very small family compared to most, there are still a lot of Garlington descendants in the United States today. Are all Garlingtons related? Does anyone have any thoughts or facts on this question?
Cheers
Jo Ann Garlington
