I was the contributor of the English ancestors in Thesta Scoglands book on the Garlington family. This book was published back in the mid 1970s and is certainly in need of updating now. I can furnish information on the Garlington/Girlington/Gerlington/Gyrlyngton family of England from the early 1600s back to 1100. However, as our common American ancestor, Christopher Garlington purchased land in Virginia in 1638 and relocated there in 1649 (apparently a dislocated Royalist), I have only a small bit of information on the family in England past that point. However, you can find some data in the Victoria Histories of the Counties of England (Lancashire). Any information anyone can give me on the family in England past 1649 would be greatly appreciated.
